Plan for Increasing Daycare Capacity Received Positively

Jakarta City Council Commission E Member, Elva Farhi Qolbina, appriciated the Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung, who directly reviewed the child daycare facilities at Jakarta City Hall.

He stated his commitment to increase the capacity of the service to make it more adequate.

"This is a real form of support for workers, especially parents who every day have to balance their roles as employees and parents," she expressed, Tuesday (5/6).

Council Supports Increasing Daycare Capacity at City Hall

According to her, increasing daycare capacity at city hall was very important considering the facility could only accommodate 20 children. While, the number of employees was highest and the need for child daycare services was also crawling.

"Besides being a work support, this facility is also an important part of the supportive ecosystem for families in Jakarta. For many young families, especially those where both parents are working, this is a real solution that supports their daily lives," she expressed.

Besides supporting it, she also encouraged that this policy be expanded to other government offices under the Jakarta Government.

The same statement also came from another Commission E Member, Astrid Khairunisha. He emphasized the importance of improving the quality of Human Resources (HR) caregivers in every daycare.

"I am also a mother and fully understand a mother's concerns. So, I strongly agree with this capacity increase, but it must also be supported by childcare providers," she stressed.

She added this should also be accompanied by a good monitoring system to ensure the safety and comfort of the entrusted children.

"So, the mothers feel safe and comfortable when leaving their children," she closed.
