Violence Against Children in West Jakarta Still High

The case of violence against children in the capital is still relatively high. Especially in West Jakarta, from January until mid-June, 2015, the case reached 106 cases. From that amount, 25 out of them are dominated with sexual case.

Meanwhile, the violence against children case committed by strangers is ranked first place with 13 cases

Head of Women and Children Protection Unit Head (PPA) for West Jakarta Metro Resort Police, Insp. Taufik Iksan said as many as 2 cases were already processed and its document had been submitted to the court.

Iksan continued, most case is varied or precisely from family, neighborhood, and school. In accordance with the data of West Jakarta Resort Police's Children Protection Unit (PPA), the violence against children committed by parents is reaching 1 case, 2 cases by teachers, 6 cases by friends, and 3 cases by best friends

"Meanwhile, the violence against children case committed by strangers is ranked first place with 13 cases," he explained.
