Jakarta Diskominfotik Holds Public Speaking Training

The Jakarta Communication, Information, and Statistics Agency (Diskominfotik) held a public speaking training as part of the Jakarta LeadersTalk Forum activities, which held in the Pola Room Block G, Jakarta City Hall, Thursday (5/15).

Training like this can serve as an important asset

Jakarta Diskominfotik Head, Budi Awaluddin revealed this public speaking event aimed to enhance the knowledge of Jakarta officials regarding public communication.

"Information dissemination is essential as one of the efforts to realize transparent governance and create public participation," he expressed, Thursday (5/15).

According to him, Jakarta officials are often required to convey information about programs and policies to the public. Hence, the communication skills and style of these officials are aspects that are often highlighted by the public.

"They will be faced with a situation to deliver a statement that is informative, clarifying, or answering questions from the media," he expressed.

He also emphasized the importance of enhancing communication capacity for leaders in the government environment.

"It is important for all of us to continually enhance our communication capacity and skills as leaders to be more effective and targeted," he explained.

He added the Jakarta LeadersTalk Forum is a discussion and training platform that has been held for the first time to meet that need.

"Thank you to the speaker, Andromeda Mercury, who have taken the time to share their knowledge and experiences through this event. Hopefully, the material presented by the speaker can provide benefits and added value for the improvement of our public communication capacity at the Jakarta Government," he explained.

Jakarta Diskominfotik's Communicatio  Division Head, Koharudin explained this training is an effort to enhance the capacity and confidence of civil servants and PJLPs in delivering government messages effectively and communicatively.

"Hopefully, in the future, training like this can serve as an important asset for all participants, especially those who play roles as media liaisons, content managers, and spokespersons under the Jakarta Government," he explained.

He explained good communication will help convey development information more accurately, attractively, and understandably to the public.

"Hopefully, this becomes a culture of continuous learning in Diskominfotik, thus it remains adaptive and professional in running public communication tasks," he stated.
