Jakarta Council (DPRD) Vice Chairperson, Wibi Andrino, expressed his support for the Car Free Night (CFN) along Jalan Sudirman-Thamrin, Central Jakarta.

City Gov Still Evaluating the Implementation of Car Free NightAccording to him, CFN would provide space for people to enjoy the richness of Jakarta's culture, especially Betawi culture, and also serve as a platform for MSMEs to promote their products.
"Jakarta is the city that never sleeps. As a global city, imagine if international tourists come, and we can showcase local culture at CFN event," he conveyed.
Wibi added that CFN could become a new entertainment for citizens. Various activities, such as cultural festivals and music performances, could be held at CFN points.
However, he reminded that the city government should prioritize security to prevent CFN from being misused for negative activities.
"Facilities and good intentions from the government must be used wisely by the community," he asserted.
Jakarta DPRD Commission E Member, Chicha Koeswoyo, also welcomed the CFN proposal, which is currently being reviewed by the Jakarta Provincial Government. According to her, this event could be a way for people to de-stress during the weekend.
"We need space to socialize and build a good and positive community. By gathering, walking, and greeting those around us, we will become healthier," she revealed.
Furthermore, she reaffirmed the importance of safety during CFN activity to avoid negative impacts.
"The executive must review it carefully. Hopefully, it results in a positive activity that brings happiness for Jakartans," she said.
