Residents of RW 02 Petamburan Urban Village, Central Jakarta, Tuesday (6/17), conducted community work by cleaning the environment as an effort to welcome Jakarta's 498th Anniversary and commemorate World Environment Day.

Petamburan Urban Village Head, Rian Hermanu, said the activity involved caretakers of RT, LMK, Dasawisma, Karang Taruna, PKK cadres, PPSU and workers of PT Indonesia Power.

"Hopefully the collaboration with PT Indonesia Power can be also provided in different sectors," he said.
He added that the community works included planting trees and cleaning water channel.
Senior Manager of PT Indonesia Power, Suryo Irawan, stated his side is ready to collaborate in other sectors as a form of social responsibility to community.
"This collaboration is a form of social responsibility to help residents," he stated.
Meanwhile, Head of RW 02 Petamburan, Ahmad Fauzi explained the community work was focused at RT 08 where the area was often inundated.
"Assistance of cleaning equipment such as brooms, shovels, carts and trash cans from PT Indonesia Power is very useful for supporting cleaning activities in residential areas," he admitted.
