During this time, those illegal buildings are used as residence, stall and workshop. Consequently, it looks slum and dirty.
Nur Komariyah, Head of Duri Pulo Urban Village acknowledged that socialization was already conducted to the building owners and they agreed. They were also given a chance to demolish their own building.
“We gave them a deadline until August 30, if it is not yet demolished, so we will do demolishment on September 2,” he asserted, Wednesday (7/1).
As planned, after demolishment, the Central Jakarta Water Management Sub-Department would normalize the channel as the site is often prone to flooding.
“Such channel is clogged and has never been dredged, that’s why it is often inundated,” he disclosed.
