"I provide mental support training for athletes or the application of psychological techniques and strategies to develop mental skills such as focus, self-confidence, resilience, and emotional control," she expressed, Friday (9/26).
For her, the main goal is not just the medal, but how athletes can maintain their best performance and mental well-being, both inside and outside the arena.
"Basically, they can be selfish while competing because that's what makes them confident that they are capable of achieving their goals," she explained.
Before competing at POMNas XIX, all athletes from various sports were required to participate in an objective mental training program. Hence, Aryati and her team could map out the psychological condition of the athletes.
"We see the value of the preparation, not just the numerical score. Later, whether the mental training results are good, adequate, lacking, or satisfactory will all serve as benchmarks for the next stage," she explained.
She emphasized that mental training is not the only key to success. Physical preparation, technical skills, and regular observation of athletes' activities are equally important.
"This is a process. We people in the field of Sport Mental are not magicians who can change anything without a proper process," she asserted.
Not only relying on conventional approaches, but he also introduces innovation through Mental Science Technology by using applications and teletherapy platforms, helping with diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment of athletes' mental conditions through engaging digital features.
"Technology can become a bridge to help athletes better understand and maintain their mental health," she continued.
Her presence as a Sport Mental Coach at POMNas XIX is not an ordinary matter. She ensures that the Jakarta contingent is the only one to include a mental coach in this event.
"I thank the Jakarta Government for providing a Sport Mental Coach at POMNas XIX. It can be said that only this event has a Sport Mental Coach," he stated.
