Gubernur DKI Jakarta, Pramono Anung

Idle Funds Prepared for Year-End Project Payments, Pramono Says

Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung confirmed that the Jakarta Regional Government has Rp 14.6 trillion of idle funds held at Bank Jakarta. He explained that the funds are set aside to anticipate the Jakarta Regional Budget payment pattern, which tends to increase significantly at the end of the year.

We will use these funds to make such payments

"Finance Minister, Purbaya stated that the Jakarta regional government has Rp 14.6 trillion idle funds held in Bank Jakarta. That's true. However, in Jakarta, the regional budget payments typically spike at the end of the year," said Pramono (10/22).

For comparison, the Governor stated that the surge in payments at the end of 2023 reached around Rp 16 trillion, and in 2024 reached Rp 18 trillion.

Pramono ensured that the funds will be used to meet the payment needs for Jakarta Provincial Government programs and projects, especially at the end of November and December.

"We will use these funds to make such payments," he added.

Payment needs at the end of this year are estimated to be in the same range as previous years, between Rp 16-18 trillion.

He even proposed the Minister of Finance to immediately transfer an additional Rp 10 trillion to the Jakarta Provincial Government. Meanwhile, Pramono also stated that this year's regional revenue targets had been met.

"Thank God, Jakarta has also achieved its tax revenue targets, and even slightly exceeding them," he stated.
