Jakarta Badminton Team Maintains Its Dominance at POPNAS

With a total of three gold, three silver, and two bronze medals, the Jakarta Badminton Team retained its overall champion title at the National Student Sports Week (POPNAS).

Jakarta's final two gold medals were secured by Ainun Qomariyah and Fardhan Rainanda Joe in the mixed doubles category after defeating East Java in straight sets, 25–23 and 21–15, at Tanjung Priok Sports Hall.

Jakarta is Optimistic about Surpassing POPNAS Target

The other gold came from the boys' doubles team of Boby Claudio Tampi and Darrel Fawwaz, who overcame their opponents from East Kalimantan with scores of 21–18 and 21–17.

In the girls' singles, Qori Nur Syarifah brought home silver after falling to Ghina Khairani V. from West Java. She also teamed up with Miftaqul Putri Ayudis in the girls' doubles, where they finished second after being defeated by the East Java duo.

Jakarta Badminton Team Manager, Mat Hair, expressed his appreciation for the team's strong and spirited performance throughout the 2025 POPNAS tournament.

"Alhamdulillah, we brought home three gold, three silver, and two bronze medals, surpassing our closest rival East Java, who earned two golds," he said on Sunday (11/9). 

He also expressed his gratitude to all athletes, coaches, and members of the badminton contingent for their outstanding achievement.
