1,318 New Street Lights Baru Installed in North Jakarta

The North Jakarta Public Works Sub-agency has added new points for 1,318 public street lights in six sub-districts from January to October 2025.

Infrastructure and Facilities Section Head for City Utilities and Public Street Light, Untung Pitoyo said, the street light were installed on neighborhood streets, residential alleys, and collector roads.

"This is done as a follow-up to the results of the Musrenbang, the recess of council members, and the RT/RW requests," he expressed, Monday (11/17).

5,355 Malfunctioned Street Lights in North Jakarta Repaired

He detailed, they were installed in Penjaringan (301 points); Cilincing (441 points); Pademangan (168 points); Tanjung Priok (134 points); Koja (81 points), and Kelapa Gading (193 points).

"This year, 1,000 points are targeted to have street lights yet the realization exceeded the target with a total of 1,318 locations," he explained.

He added that all street lights installed used light emitting diode (LED) lamps with 90-120 watts power for main roads and 40-90 watts for neighborhood streets or alleys. Each street lamp post is seven meters high.

Those street lights were installed to improve the safety and comfort of the community.

"A well-lit road reduces the risk of accidents and criminal acts at night," he added.

This work received appreciation from the North Jakarta City Council Coordinator, Epriyanto.

"Thank you for following up on the residents' request. In fact, the officers also replaced the malfunctioned lamps," he stressed.

He urged other residents to take care of the facilities built using the City Budget (APBD) funds so that it can provide long-term benefits.

"Please take care of public facilities, do not damage or steal them. The lighting provides benefits for all of us, especially at night," he said.
