Rano Urges BUMDs to Uphold Integrity as Core Organizational Value

Jakarta Vice Governor Rano Karno urged all Regional-Owned Enterprises (BUMD) to strengthen their internal control system with transparency and accountability, making compliance a daily work culture.

"Every BUMD must make integrity the core of the organization," Rano emphasized while opening the Seminar and Integrity Family Activity (KERTAS) for Jakarta BUMD at Pullman Hotel Jakarta Central Park, Tanjung Duren Selatan, Grogol Petamburan, West Jakarta, on Tuesday (11/25).

The event, themed "United Action, Eradicate Corruption: Transforming BUMD Governance with Integrity Towards a Global and Cultured Jakarta", is part of the series of activities leading up to the World Anti-Corruption Day (Hakordia) commemoration in Jakarta provincial level on December 9.

Rano hopes that all BUMD officials, including commissioners, supervisors, directors, and operational staffs, can set an example in fostering an ethical and integrity-based work culture.

"We expect this event to produce practical and measurable recommendations that can be implemented to support corruption prevention efforts and strengthen BUMD's competitiveness in facing global challenges," shared Rano.

According to him, for Jakarta to become a leading global city, a shared vision and acceleration are required, where business processes, public services, and regional asset management follow good corporate governance principles.

In addition, Jakarta Provincial Inspector Dhany Sukma explained that the seminar will be held for two days, from Tuesday (11/25) until Wednesday (11/26).

The event is attended by commissioners, supervisors, and directors from all BUMDs in Jakarta, with experts from KPK, BP BUMN, and Danantara serving as speakers.

Dhany said the purpose is to strengthen integrity and anti-corruption commitment within Jakarta BUMDs.

"The event also intends to solidify policy alignment between the DKI Jak arta Provincial Government and BUMDs in managing businesses transparently and accountably, supporting BUMD transformation to be more adaptive, competitive, and in line with Jakarta's vision and mission," he stated.
