Accident at SDN 01 Kalibaru May Not Happen Again, Rano Hopes

Jakarta Deputy Governor, Rano Karno expressed his concern and hoped that the accident at SDN Kalibaru 01, Cilincing, North Jakarta, which resulted in 20 students and one teacher being injured after being hit by a MBG delivery vehicle, would not happen again in the future.

Rano said that the victims have received medical treatment. Five of them have been referred to Koja Regional General Hospital and 16 others to Cilincing Regional General Hospital.

He added that their condition was not serious and had been handled well.

"The Jakarta Provincial Government will cover the medical expenses of all victims. The Governor has also visited them. We ask for your prayers, and we hope this tragedy will not happen again at our school," he said, Thursday (12/11).

The incident happened at around 6:39 AM while most of the students were engaged in literacy activities in the schoolyard. Suddenly, a van crashed through a fence and drove through the schoolyard, hitting several students and a teacher.
