Drainage on Jalan Murdai 1 Normalized

Central Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency is carrying out drainage normalization on Jalan Murdai 1, RW 10, Cempaka Putih Barat, Cempaka Putih, as a preventive measure against frequent flooding.

"We're targeting its completion by February,"

Central Jakarta SDA Sub-agency Drainage Maintenance Section Head, Citrin Indriati, said the channel runs through residential areas in RT 02, 03, and 06 of RW 10, stretching approximately 226 meters.

"The normalization uses U-ditch concrete measuring 60 x 60 and 80 x 80 centimeters with a depth of 1.2 meters," she explained on Wednesday (1/7).

According to her, the work has been carried out by 15 personnel since early December.

"We're targeting its completion by February," she added.

Setiawan (29), a resident of RT 03/RW 10, appreciated the sub-agency's quick response to residents' requests to repair the channel.

He shared that the area was frequently flooded during heavy rains, as the old channel couldn't handle the volume of rainwater.

"Thankfully, the channel is finally being normalized, so it can now hold more water and help prevent flooding when it rains," he expressed.
