E. Jakarta Provides 5 Tons of Beef in Low-Cost Meat Markets

The six sub-districts in East Jakarta will hold the low-cost meat markets by providing 5 tons of beef and 2,290 chicken meats, today or Tuesday (7/13). In the market, one kilogram of beef will be sold by Rp 39,000 and chicken meat Rp 13,000.

We want to lighten the needy in getting affordable meat. For one kilogram beef, we subsidize Rp 50,000 and chicken Rp 25,000

According to Bayu Sri Hastuti, Head of East Jakarta Marine, Agriculture and Food Security Sub-Department, the market is held to suppress meat price which has been creeping up ahead of Eid ul-Fitr.

We want to lighten the needy in getting affordable meat. For one kilogram beef, we subsidize Rp 50,000 and chicken Rp 25,000,” she said, Monday (7/13).

Hastuti acknowledged the market is dedicated to lower-income people.

“Those subsidized meats will be distributed to each sub-district based on the determined quota. That means, the meat distribution in each sub district is different,” she reported.

Here are the scheme of meat distribution in six sub-districts, as follow:

1. Duren Sawit 

- 1 ton of beef and 300 chickens

2. Jatinegara

- 1 ton of beef and 400 chicken meats

3. Matraman 

- 500 kilograms of beef and 390 chicken meats

4. Cakung

- 1 ton of beef and 400 chicken meats

5. Cipayung 

- 1 ton of beef and 400 chicken meats

6. KramatJati

- 500 kilograms of beef and 400 chicken meats

“Coupon distribution was from sub-district with supervision from KPKP officer. It aims to anticipate misapplication, where I marked it with my signature, following its stamp,” she told.
