Jakarta Governor Basuki 'Ahok' Tjahaja Purnama along with the Vice President of Indonesia  Jusuf Kalla are re-discussing about the utilization of lands in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, this Wednesday afternoon (7/15). The athletes villages are planned to be built on the lands that eventually will be used as flats.

So Mr. JK said, do not build luxury apartment on the lands anymore

Ahok stated there is special request from Jusuf Kalla for the land utilization owned by the State Secretary (Setneg). JK requested that the lands will not be built luxury apartment, but the government's subsidized flat.

"So Mr. JK said, do not build luxury apartment on the lands anymore. By constructing subsidized apartment, the environment charge is cheap, we only have to pay amounted to Rp 75,000-100,000 per day," said Ahok, at City Hall, Wednesday (7/15).

Besides that, the other problem discussed is about the lands which are still occupied by illegal residents. Eventually they will be relocated to low-cost rental flats which are being prepared by the Government. "We also want to discuss the utilization of lands in Kemayoran. There are many illegal residents occupying the lands," he told.

Ahok added, the Vice President also wants all slum areas  in the city to be arranged neatly. However it takes time, as for flats provision needs land and development process. "Mr. JK wants all slum areas to be arranged, encourage them to occupy the flats but it needs empty land to build ones," he disclosed.

As known, the Government requests lands in Kemayoran to be built athletes village in order to the upcoming Asian Games 2018 implementation. After being accommodated by athletes and the other state guests, it will be used as flats.
