Ahead of 70th Independence Day, Jakarta Vice Governor Djarot Saiful Hidayat instructed all urban village and sub-district heads to decorate their area and repair all public facilities such as damaged sidewalks and fences around park.

" I give a deadline to repair public facilities until August 15 or before Independence Day ceremony . Especially in East Jakarta, I found some damaged sidewalks and is very dangerous at night," told Djarot, when he visited the East Jakarta Mayor Office, Monday (7/27).

According to him, the urban planning should be changed immediately. Considering East Jakarta has a larger land and there must be a priority handling, especially on sidewalks alongside protocol road.

"We'll do monitoring and controlling. We also asked them to solve technical problem in the field," added Djarot.

Responding on that matter, East Jakarta Mayor Bambang Musyawardhana said the instruction will be followed up on Tuesday (7/28). The whole apparatus in his area will be deployed to decorate their own area. He admitted, this activity will be easy because same as when there will be Adipura valuation.

"We will start working on tomorrow. If we just paint the sidewalks, park fences, or road and repair damaged sidewalks, as well as clean up graffiti on the wall, I think we can do this fast," he told
