BPOM Cooperating with City Supervising Dangerous Foods and Drugs

Jakarta Governor, Basuki 'Ahok' Tjahaja Purnama stated that Communications, Informatics and Public Relations Department is designing an android application of The Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BPOM) thus citizens can find out whether food and drink they consumed safe from dangerous ingredients.

The result can be known whether the food is safe or not," said Ahok after he witnessed cooperation signatories of integrated food and processed supervision between Jakarta Provincial Government with BPOM RI at City Hall, Friday (8/7).
He disclosed, food and drink products which are proven containing dangerous ingredient by the application, could be reported to the government. Eventually the trading place would be closed and the trader would not be allowed to sell again.
City will Use Android to Support Security SystemHe told, his party has registered food and drink samples that have been tested by BPOM helped by One-Stop Integrated Service (PTSP) of each urban village. Not only that, the trader will eventually be encouraged using ID card which BPOM code printed inside of it.
"If it's been applied like that, the traders registered on BPOM would be more salable. If they are already registered on the application people will surely choose them," he explained.
