E. Jakarta Provides 5 Tons of Beef in Low-Cost Meat Markets"We are not ready for self-sufficient in beef now, because still preparing for cooperation with NTT. The meat import is restricted, because our beef reaches 50 beef," he said.
Yet, according to him, the import should be specialized for market operation thus the government could manage price in the market. "The import is only for market operation, so we can provide beef at affordable prices," he told.
Ahok plans to ask for permit thus the city administration can import beef independently by appointing PD Dharma Jaya to run it. "I ask PD Dharma Jaya, are they can file a import right letter, but the import will be cut and sold in accordance with the operation market price," he explained.
In such operation market, the non-cash transaction will be applied thus the buyers' identity can be detected and prevent beef hoarding. "The buyers must buy beef with non-cash. That is solutions that we offer," he finished.
