Jakarta Governor, Basuki “Ahok” T Purnama regrets the length time of the pilgrim queue to run hajj. How could it not be
, every pilgrim in Jakarta needs at least 17 years. Ahok assessed, the waiting time does not ideal. This year, Jakarta gets 5,668 quota of Hajj pilgrims.I hope it could be accelerated, because if it takes 17 years, that’s so long time, it should be takes only one or two years only
"This is not ideal if we have to wait for hajj departure up to dozen years. It is supposed to be one or two years," he said, after he released the hajj officers to accompany the pilgrims from Jakarta, at City Hall, Thursday (8/13).
City Commits to Improve Hajj ServicesHe proposed to the Religious Ministry to limit the pilgrims who ever had run hajj and give a chance for others. By so, it could reduce the quota.
Former Regent of East Belitung admitted he has applied the policy. Those officers who will accompany the pilgrims are those who ever have run hajj. “So, they can run hajj while performing the duty,” he uttered.
Aside that, he hopes the expansion work of Masjidil Haram in Arab Saudi could immediately be finished. Thus, the quota of hajj pilgrims in Indonesia could be added.
“Because, if they take 17 years to run hajj, this is too long. I hope the expansion work could be finished soon,” he expected.
Separately, 40 hajj officers were inaugurated. They are 21 Regional Hajj Guidance Teams (TPHD) and 19 Regional Hajj Healthcare Teams (TKHD) and also 65 center hajj officers comprising 13 Indonesia Hajj Guidance Teams (TPHI), 39 Indonesia Hajj Healthcare Teams (TKHI) as well as 13 Indonesia Hajj Escort Teams (TPIHI).
