Staple foods price in some traditional markets in West Jakarta is still hiking. Even for red chili price that is one of staple food commodities increased from Rp 60,000 to Rp 80,000 per kilogram.
Chili price hike has been going on for last two weeks and increased up to 4 folds
Based on observation in some traditional market including in Cengkareng, Kopro and Grogol Market, currently red chili is sold by Rp 80,000 per kilogram. Cayenne chili price until this time still remains sold by Rp 50,000 per kilogram, pure beef by Rp 120,000 per kilogram, broiler chicken by Rp 45,000 per kilogram and village chicken by Rp 75,000 per kilogram.

"Chili price hike has been going on for last two weeks and increased up to 4 folds. Two weeks ago, the price is still sold by Rp 20,000 per kilogram," said Maemunah, one of vegetables peddlers in Cengkareng Market, Tuesday (8/25).
Such price hike is admitted by Head of West Jakarta Micro Small and Medium Cooperative Enterprises Sub-Department (KUMKMP), Sonar Sinurat.
"Chili price keep increasing sharply," he explained.
