Flood anticipation, four reservoirs
in North Jakarta begin to be dredged. The effort is expected to minimize the
impact of flooding.

Dredging Work Targeted to Be Complete in December
“We began dredging those reservoirs
since last July. It slated to be done in upcoming November,” said Head
of River and East Flow Coastal Division, Jakarta Water Management Department, Monang Ritonga, Thursday (9/3).
Those reservoirs are Sunter
Selatan, Sunter Utara, Rawa Badak Utara and Kodamar reservoir.
“We do that up to lowest level of
the water (LWL) as Mr. Governor instructed us,” he uttered.
Ritonga optimistic the dredging work
could bring positive impact in North Jakarta. Furthermore he also highlighted
prone flooded areas namely Pademangan, Koja, Tanjung Priok, and Rawa Badak
Utara Urban District.
