Jakarta Cleanliness Dept. Proposed 198 Additional Dump Trucks

Ideally, to transport 6,700 tons of trash everyday, it needs 1,000 dump trucks. Therefore Jakarta Cleanliness Department will propose 198 additional units on 2015 Revised City Budget.

We have calculated, ideally we need 1,000 dump trucks

Vice Head of Jakarta Cleanliness Department, Ali Maulana Hakim stated, his party already bought 352 new dump trucks that coming gradually. However, the number is still not ideal for trash transportation. "We have calculated, ideally we need 1,000 dump trucks," he stated, Tuesday (9/8).

According to him, previously his party intended to order 600 additional trucks. But it was cancelled as the manufacturer side could not provide as much as the number. "We have summoned the manufacturer in e-catalog. They said they could provide dump cars, but the truck coach-work could not do the 600 units," he told.

50 New Dump Trucks to Come This September

He hopes, the procurement of 198 additional units proposed on 2015 Revised City Budget could be approved. Thus, the target to have 1000 dump trucks until the end of the year could be reached.

"Those new trucks will be distributed to each Cleanliness Sub-Department of each area and regency. The broken trucks will be eliminated and replaced with the ones. As for those trucks which still operate normally will be fixed," he disclosed.
