October, Bidara Cina Residents Relocated

Jakarta Governor, Basuki “Ahok” T Purnama ensured his party to relocate residents living in Bidara Cina, East Jakarta in the upcoming October. The region is much needed for Ciliwung-East Flood Canal (KBT) waterway project.

“Bidara Cina should be acquired at least next month,” said Basuki, at City Hall, Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan, Wednesday (9/9).

Certified Lands in Bidara Cina will Get Compensation, Basuki Says

Some of residents who have a Right to Build (HGB) certificate will receive compensation. Besides citizen lands, there are also lands belonging insurance company, Pertamina, and Hengky.

As planned, at least 300 households will be relocated. The relocation must have to be done as soon as possible. This relates with Mr. President, Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo's instruction to tackle flood in Jakarta.

Of the 300 households, 48 out of them are living on state land. They will be relocated to the Cipinang Besar Selatan (Cibesel) Flat.

As for the compensation, is managed by central government. The waterway work is predicted able to reduce water volume about 60 meter cubic per second.
