Water Channel Along Jalan Agus Salim Normalized

The water channel along Jalan Agus Salim (Sabang), Kebon Sirih Urban Village, Menteng Sub-District,  normalized.

Besides dredging , the channel is also deepened up to 1.6 m that was formerly only 80 cm

Head of Central Water Management Sub-Department, Herning Wahyuningsih stated her sub-department also demolished the channel at the same place due to trash and sediment.

"Besides dredging , the channel is also deepened up to 1.6 m that was formerly only 80 cm," she told, Monday (9/21).

The demolishment also used a wrecking machine for asphalt and concrete. "We did it as there are some points of the channel located under the roadside. It aims to smoothen dredging process," she uttered.

Afterwards, she continued, the channel will be installed with sheet pile using river stones. It aims to prevent the soil on the channel sides to get avalanche. "Then the top part is also installed with u-ditch concrete," she explained.

She claimed, the normalization was hampered with many utility network. Officer had to manage the utility wires first, and tie them, thus it would not interrupt the project.

 "There are 30 officers deployed for the project. It is predicted to be complete by this week," she closed.
