Cegah Angkot Masuk, TPU Karet Bivak akan Dipagar

Minimizing Public Minivan, Karet Bivak Public Cemetery will Be Fenced

To prevent public transports crossing the area of Public Cemetery during busy hours, Karet Bivak Public Cemetery, Bendungan Hilir, Tanah Abang , Central Jakarta, will be fenced.

If the cemetery is already fenced, there would be no more vehicles entering, except ambulance

Head of Central Jakarta Parks and Cemeteries Sub-Department, Djauhari Arifin stated, public minivan drivers often use the limited area as an alternative way, for avoiding traffic congestion on Jalan Karet Pasar Baru Barat and Jalan Raya Penjernihan.

The public minivans are the blue ones which used to serve route Kampung Melayu-Bendungan Hilir. Even tens of motorcycles also go through the way.

"The entrance way of the public cemetery will be fenced with irons since there are many public minivans entering the cemetery to avoid traffic," said Arifin, Wednesday (10/14).

He added he will propose the fence installation immediately to Parks and Cemeteries Department. Hopefully, it could be realized next year.

But he has not calculated the budget needed yet. He worries, if the cemetery is not fenced, it will be damaged due to being passed by vehicles.

"If the cemetery is already fenced, there would be no more vehicles entering, except ambulance to delivery corpse until the closest location of the cemetery," he asserted.
