Fire Hit Sarinah Building, Visitors Evacuated

Fire incident occurred in Sarinah Building, Jalan MH Thamrin, Central Jakarta, Thursday (10/15).
Initially, there was smoke from 14th floor, then a big explosion sound heard. Then there was a great fire came out. We instantly ran out of the building
It was known the fire was first seen around 10.40 AM. The employees and visitors in the mall and office then evacuated to outside of the building.
"Initially, there was smoke from 14th floor, and then a big explosion sound heard. Then, there was a great fire came out. We instantly ran out of the building," said Santi (25), one of the janitors, Thursday (10/15).
A House in Cipayung Gutted by FireHead of Central Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-Department, Idris Daharina Na'abah stated, currently there are 21 fire trucks deployed to the scene. The firemen are still trying to put out the fire.
"17 fire trucks from Sub-Department and 4 from Department deployed to manage the fire, it is still on progress now," he explained.
The officers had a trouble to get into the building area as there are many cars parked. Currently, the officers keep trying to hose down the fire source on 14th floor so that it
will not get expanded.
