Jakarta Water Management Department has allocated Rp 500 billion for river normalization program in the capital city.
After dredging mud in Grogol River, similar action will also be done in Sekretaris and Angke Rivers
According to Tri Djoko, Head of Jakarta Water Management Department, there are four big rivers as normalization priority. They are Sentiong, Galur, Item, and Sunter Utara Dam, including Grogol River which still being normalized.
"After dredging mud in Grogol River, similar action will also be done in Sekretaris and Angke rivers," he expressed, Wednesday (11/4).
Dredging of Ria Rio Dam Should Be AcceleratedHe admitted, such dredging is disturbing the aesthetics due to lots of mud at the river bank.
"We ensure the mud can already be cleaned prior to rainy season," he stressed.
To optimize it, he added, he is going to coordinate with urban village, sub-district, and sub-department. "We hope the whole dredging would be complete in the upcoming December," he hoped.
