Pump Machines in Pengadegan Ready to Operate

The pump station of flood control in Pengadegan, precisely at Jalan Pengadegan Timur 1, RT 07/01, Pegadegan Urban Village, Pancoran, South Jakarta, is in a good condition and ready to be used.

Rifki, (28), an operator of the pump station stated that in the station, there are 2 pump machines with water capacity 300 and 500 cc per second. "The capacity of the small one is 300 cc per second, as for the big one is 500 cc per second," he stated, Tuesday (11/17).

According to him, those machines are maintained routinely with machine heating once in two days. "The machines are heated for half hour so that they can be operated when flooding," told Rifki.

Head of Maintenance and Flood Control Section for Sou th Jakarta Water Management Sub-Department, Suyadi Sastro said that in RW 1, RT 7 and RT 8 are often flooded. "The machines are still safe, they'll be ready to control the flood water," he said.
