Encountering MEA, Tourism Businessmen Gird Up One's Loins

As an effort to attract more tourists in line with the 2016 Asean Economic Community (MEA), the East Jakarta Administration held tourism guidance in building of Sasana Modern Jalan Raya Bekasi, Cakung Sub-District, Wednesday (11/18).

It is expected the information obtained can be spread to other tourism industries thus we are all ready to face the MEA

The event's title took Readiness of Welcoming 2016 MEA that will be joined by 75 participants who are the tourism industry throughout East Jakarta.

"It is expected the information obtained can be spread to other tourism industries thus we are all ready to face the MEA," said Head of East Jakarta Culture and Tourism, Triyugo Prasetyo Wednesday (11/18).

He added that tourism businesses must prepare and foster cooperation, as well as support and synergy to each other to serve the tourists well.

In addition to attract tourists, they are also free to work and open business in Indonesia and cannot be banned because already entered the MEA. Moreover, Indonesia had made an agreement as a member.

"MEA is actually in Indonesia must be ongoing in 2015, but because of the readiness is still less thus the government asking for free trade MEA implemented in 2016, and next year we could not resist and slow down it again, and inevitably we have to contend with citizens foreign countries," he expressed.
