23,871 Packs of Food and Illegal Cosmetics Destroyed

A number of 211 items or 23,871 packs of food and illegal cosmetics were destroyed by Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BPOM) in Cilangkap, Cipayung, East Jakarta. Those illegal goods worth Rp 3.6 billion were confiscated over past year.

Whole evidences were derived from three cases in North Jakarta which already had legal entity

Head of Jakarta BPOM, Dewi Prawitasari acknowledged those illegal goods were destroyed due to have no any distribution permits.

City to Tightens Foods and Drugs Supervision

Those evidence were destroyed in Jakarta and another location in West Java.

“Whole evidences were derived from three cases in North Jakarta which already had legal entity. That’s why we need to be careful,” she stated.

Prawitasari explained that whole goods were derived from expedition storage, handmade product of illegal cosmetic and warehouse. “Those goods were distributed in beauty clinics in Jakarta,” she finished.
