53 Prajurit Kodam Jaya Bersihkan Sampah Ciliwung

Kodam Jaya's Troopers Cleaned Up Trash on Ciliwung River

As many as 53 troopers of Kodam Jaya Army were deployed to clean trash on Ciliwung Riverbank, Wednesday (12/9). As a result, 27 sacks of trash managed to be transported and then disposed into the closest trash disposal site.

We're concerned that eventhough have repeatedly been socialized, there are still residents littering the river.

Head of Kodam Jaya Information, Col. Inf. Heri Prakosa disclosed the troopers deployed to keep the river clean from trash. Moreover, every heavy raining and the water debit is high, there are always trashes carried by the river's flow. Then once the water surface recedes, the trash are left on the riverbank.

"We're concerned that eventhough have repeatedly been socialized, there are still residents littering the river. Whereas once flood happens, they themselves would be disadvantaged," he expressed.

Normalization of Ciliwung River Reaches 40 Percent

According to him, the cleaning is conducted routine  every Wednesday in different locations especially the location which has many trash. Yesterday was started from Kalibata Bridge until bridge on Jalan MT Haryono.
