The Katulampa Sluice Gate’s water level reached an alarming 110 centimeters or alert 3, following heavy rain in Bogor and its surrounding areas, West Java.

Suratman, Officer of Operational Controlling Center (Pusdalops) for Jakarta Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) reported that water level kept raising gradually since 6.25 PM. “ At 7 PM, the peak of water level touched 110 centimeters ,” he expressed, Wednesday (12/8).

Due to this condition, resident homes along Ciliwung Riverbank warned to be aware. As the water is predicted to come about 6-9 hours ahead. “ So, please be aware,” he stressed.

He details it will affect on 10 areas in Jakarta. They are Pejaten Timur, Rawajati, Kalibata, Pengadegan, Gang Arus Cawang, Kebon Baru, Bukit Duri, Bidaracina, Kampung Melayu and Manggarai.

According to the early warning issued by Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), the rain with medium and heavy intensity will hit around 8 PM in Puncak, Cisarua, Ciawi, Tajur, Bogor, Ciomas, Sentul, Parung, Cilebut, Bojong gede, Citayam, Depok and Cibinong.

It is predicted will continue until 9 PM and spread to Citereup, margonda, Sawangan, Cimanggis, Tapos, Gunung Putri, Cinere.
