2017, Revitalization of 17 Buildings at Kota Tua Done

The revitalization process of Kota Tua, West Jakarta, keeps being accelerated in order to achieve the title of world heritage site from United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

We're targeting it can be complete in the upcoming 2017. This is assessment result of UNESCO

Until now, the revitalization work towards 17 buildings in Kota has reached 80 percent.

"We're targeting it can be complete in the upcoming 2017. This is assessment result of UNESCO," disclosed Director of PT Pembangunan Kota Tua Jakarta (JOTRC), Lin Che Wei, Tuesday (12/15).

Kota Tua Cleaned by 300 Joint Personnel

Wei stated, Kota Tua is now successfully entered in the list of world heritage site nomination.

"Kota Tua managed to get rid of some rivals, such as Banda Island, Trowulan, Tana Toraja, Candi Maurojambi, and Semarang City," she expressed.

She went on the say that revitalization was been done in some buildings. they are Apotek Chung Hwa, ex-office of Jiwasraya, three buildings at Jalan Malaka 7-9, block Kerta Niaga, Tjipta Niaga, Dharma Niaga, Tijgersgracht and post office.

"We're optimistic Kota Tua could be nominated in World Heritage Site. Considering, based on UNESCO assessment, this is more focused on the restructuring plan area, "said Lin.
