Bekasi Station Blocked, Train Travel Disturbed

A number of train (KA) travel from Jakarta to West Java and Central Java disturbed on Thursday (4/17) due to a demonstration of commuter line (CL) or KRL passengers blocking Bekasi Station, West Java. The blocking by CL passengers is an expression of their protest for train schedules that are often delayed, plus every morning the passengers always jolt inside the car until they are suffering from the heat.

If KRL passengers are still able to continue their journey, though only until to Kranji Station

As a result, many trains stopped their journey and rested at a number of stations. Eventually a number of passengers were forced to cancel their journey by train.

One of them is KA Argo Jati, Gambir-Cirebon track, which was forced to stop at the Jatinegara station. The trains was supposed to be on a board at 09:45 am, and it just left the station at 12:10 pm. Automatically, the train travel disturbed for more than two hours. Similarly, KA Argo Bromo Anggrek Surabaya-Gambir track, also delayed about 10 minutes late.

Hit by Train, an Old Man Died Instantly at the Scene

A number of passengers who could not wait patiently, finally restored the train ticket. Luckily the Jatinegara Station party would reimburse it 100 percent, without any slightly cutting.

Jatinegara Station Chief, Weddy Hartono admitted that a number of train travel disrupted because of mass occupying the railroad crossing demo at Bekasi Station.

"It must be disturbed. As a result, it is already nearly two hours the train journey disrupted. The demo started at 09:00 am but its impact began to be felt in this Jatinegara station at 09:30," said Weddy.

KA Argo Jati that would go to Cirebon, West Java, was forced to stop at Jatinegara Station because they had to wait until the line at Cipinang Station until Bekasi Station. This was because at every station there was a train stopped waiting for the demonstration over.a

However, for the commuter line train, it could still overcome. The train used the left lane (east side). Usually trains passed in the right lane (west side). The existence of double track is considered very helpful for train travels and it reduces the buildup train at a number of station.

However, CL usually stops until Bekasi Station, but this time it was only to Kranji. CL was running in convoy and after arriving at Kranji Station, the train went back again to Jakarta.

"If KRL passengers are still able to continue their journey, though only until to Kranji Station because the impact of its trip is high. Kranji Station to Bekasi Station only pass one station more, and it can be reached by other modes of transportation. The distance is also quite close anyway," added Weddy.

Meanwhile, about seven KA Argo Jati tickets were returned, the station party kept reimburse it 100 percent of Rp 155 thousand.

Arie (50), returned round-trip tickets since he chose to return to his home in BSD, Tangerang, and he was forced to cancel his journey to Cirebon.
