City Distributes 11,000 Seeds of Grouper Fish

Jakarta Provincial Government, continues to encourage Seribu Islands fishermen to empower grouper fish. Since January-April, as many as 11,000 grouper fishes type macan and bebek have been distributed freely to the breeder of floating net cage (KJA), Seribu Islands.

Within 4,5 months, fish seeds have reached 8-10 centimeters size

To hold a seed, the Cultivation and Sea Conservation Center, Sea Fish Seed Center (BBIL) for Jakarta Maritime, Fishery and Food Security Dept, conducts a breeding of grouper fish in Tidung Island, South Seribu Islands. Each breeding period (4.5 months), or approximately 30,000 seedlings produced.

Seribu Islands Fishermen will Be Arranged

"Within 4,5 months, fish seeds have reached 8-10 centimeters size. The size is already ready to be distributed to the public," said Dedi Damhudi, an Officer of Field Technical, Cultivation and Sea Conservation Center, Saturday (4/16).

Damhudi stated, free seeds distribution is prioritized for the breeder of floating net cage in Seribu Islands. During the one-time breeding, the BBIL can provide 10,000 of improved seed.

"January 2016, we distributed 4,000 free seeds to them. Then this month, we distributed 7,000 seeds," he finished.
