Urban Village and Sub-District Offices Joined in Resident's House

Due to unfinished building construction, 4 urban village and 1 sub-district offices in East Jakarta are forced to stay in residents’ houses so that public services could still continue. Those unfinished offices are Bidaracina, Kebon Manggis, Malakasari, and Utan Kayu Urban Village, as well as Ciracas Sub-District.

We hope the house owner wants to extend the rental. If not, it is such a troublesome if we have to move the furniture again

Head of Ciracas Sub-District, Romi Sidharta, said that the construction process has reached 75 percent. As planned, the construction of that 4 levels building will be continued this year while waiting for the auction process from Procurement Auction Unit (ULP) in the province level so that his party needs to extend the rental house for the second time.

“We hope the house owner wants to extend the rental. If not, it is such a troublesome if we have to move the furniture again,” said Romi, Thursday (4/24).

Approaching Adipura, East Jakarta Still Disorganized

In general, the public services run normally even though the current office is a rental house. The problem only lays on the meeting when the participants are so many. “If we hold a meeting with residents, we are force to join in the nearest urban village office,” Romi added.

The same thing also happened in the 2014 legislative elections recapitulation. The counting had to be done in PKP Foundation hall on Jalan Kelapadua Wetan for two days. In fact, they have to move again to Cibubur Urban Village Office because the building hall would be used.

Meanwhile, Head of Bidaracina Urban Village, Nasrudin, has decided to move to the new office even though it has not finished 100 percent at the end of this month. “All equipment and furniture have been moved there,” he said.

During the renting, many obstacles such as lack of rice storage place for the poor (Raskin) and lack of parking spaces made it difficult for residents.

Assistant of East Jakarta Administration, Sutia targeted the whole construction of urban village and sub-district offices will finish this year. However, it all depend on the auction process conducted by ULP. "We are also waiting for the bidding process again. Targeted this year, the construction of village and sub-district offices will finished, said Sutia.
