Pulo Channel will Be Normalized

The Pulo connecting channel on Jl Jati Padang Baru, RW 06, Jati Padang, Pasar Minggu, will be normalized. All this time, the channel experienced narrowing due to covered by building. Consequently, water from the channel often overflows and inundates citizen residential, RW Jati Padang.

The channel will be widened up to 2.5 meters. We're still waiting for reply from urban village head, because there is building affected the widening process

Head of Jakarta Water Management Sub-dept, Holi Susanto disclosed, citizens have tried to tear down the channel to overcome inundation problem. Because the size and deep only leave 30 cm, the channel cannot accommodate water in large quantities when rain pours.

"The channel will be widened up to 2.5 meters. We're still waiting for reply from urban village head, because there is building affected the widening process," he expressed, Monday (5/30).

2017, Cakung Lama River Normalized

According to him, the widening project would hit buildings that standing on the sides of the channel. Certainly there is no compensation.

Besides normalization, the channel would have an-u-ditch. While at channel, would be installed with box culvert thus water can flow smoothly.
