LRT Groundbreaking in Jakarta Anniversary, Djarot Says

The construction of Light Rail Transit (LRT) by Jakarta Provincial Government still awaits revision of Presidential Decree (Perpres) No. 99/2015. However, Jakarta Vice Governor, Djarot Saiful Hidayat optimistic the groundbreaking can be held on time, that is in Jakarta anniversary, June 22.

“We’ll discuss it with central government,” he said, Thursday (6/2).

The decree stated that Jakarta Governor must appoint State-Owned Enterprise (BUMN) as the project implementer. In fact, Jakarta Provincial Government has appointed Regional-Owned Enterprise (BUMD) PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro). That is why the decree must be revised.

Djarot added that revision is not about principle. It’s all about technical.

“BUMN and BUMD are owned by our country also. No problem at all,” he closed.
