4 Months, 315 Drug Cases in Central Jakarta Uncovered

In combating drugs trafficking, along January-April 2014, Central Jakarta Metro Resort Police Narcotics Detective Unit has uncovered 315 drug cases, detained 428 drug abusers, confiscated 29.35 grams of heroin, 37,220.7274 grams of marijuana, and 2,269 ecstasy pills.

Those drug cases were mostly found in Sawah Besar, Cempaka Putih, and Tanah Abang sub-districts

To press drug abuse case, Sitinjak continued, the police routinely hold counseling about the dangers of drug abuse in junior high and senior high schools as well as in drug trafficking-prone areas.

“We routinely hold counseling and socialization about the dangers of drug abuse in schools and densely populated areas,” he told.

Meanwhile, Central Jakarta Resort Police Public Relations Sub-Division Chief Comr. Suyatno stated that in combating drugs trafficking, the police need the citizens’ role and involvement.

“The citizens who knew about drug case can report it to the nearest police station,” he said.
