2013 Curriculum implementation from the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud) has been disseminated through education and training (diklat) for speakers and teachers. It is hoped that in this upcoming July, all schools in the city have implemented this 2013 curriculum.

Around 3,000 state/private SDs, 1,020 state/private SMPs, 480 state/private SMAs, and 575 state/private SMKs will implement this curriculum simultaneously in the upcoming July. However, from those numbers, as many as 72 state/private SDs, 32 state/private SMPs, 90 state/private SMAs and 55 state/private SMKs have already implemented 2013 Curriculum.

The teachers in those schools have been given education and training. The teachers who have taught 50 hours in a week, and principals who have taught 70 hours a week will get certificate.
“The certificate is aimed for legitimating the expediency of teaching, not to giving allowance like teacher certification program,” added Yusen Hardiman, Head Section of High School Division of West Jakarta Education Department.
The teachers who have not had certificate will get training in Education Quality Assurance Institution (LPMP), and the it will be done gradually.
In 2013 Curriculum, students are taught in three aspects: cognitive (knowledge), affective (manner), and motoric (skill). The three aspects are estimated to teach students about behaving ethics in society and environment besides getting knowledge in school.
“There are three subjects for teacher and principal certification to improve human resource namely Math, Natural and Social Science. While other subjects are going to be tested next year,” Hardiman completed.
