Basuki Suspected Cleanliness Dept Subsidy Money Corrupted

Jakarta Vice Governor Basuki T Purnama again criticized Jakarta Cleanliness Department. If previously he suspected there was alleged inflation of honorary janitors number, he now suspects there was Rp 400 million of cleanliness subsidy fund pocketed by unscrupulous officials.
I used to ask Mr. Nurdin. The Inspectorate said there are 4,500 janitors, but he said there are only 3,500 janitors. 2,700 plus 3,500 equals 6,200. Why it suddenly appears 10,721 janitors
The assumption is based on a report saying that the money sent to section heads was not pay in full to the janitors due to unclear janitor number. The data is suspectedly played by Cleanliness Department and private party by allocating the budget to pay 10,721 janitors. However, according to Basuki, the amount of janitors is not that much.
“If there were 10,000 janitors, how can we know they absent or not? What is happened is that there is a report of money sent to section heads. The payroll money of these janitors were paid in full, but they did not get it full. So, where the money goes? The difference could reach Rp 400 million. Rp 400 million means merrymaking, sharing. That’s why transparent is a must,” he stated, Friday (5/9).
Ahok Suspected There is Janitor Number Mark UpBasuki assessed there is no clarity at all on the data of janitors number. According to the reports he received from the Inspectorate, the amount of registered janitors is only 4,500 people, which is contrast to the reports he received from former Head of Jakarta Cleanliness Department, Unu Nurdin, who said there are only 3,500 janitors. On the other hand, the number of janitors he received from the private party is 2,700 people.
“I used to ask Mr. Nurdin. The Inspectorate said there are 4,500 janitors, but he said there are only 3,500 janitors. 2,700 plus 3,500 equals 6,200. Why it suddenly appears 10,721 janitors,” he uttered.
Basuki suspected that high number of janitors is merely manipulated number. For that, he threatened to hold direct inspection to Cleanliness Department office to check the validity of that data, if within the next two weeks the data still not clear.
