In accordance to Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK)’s referral and appeal, Jakarta Provincial Government will postpone grant fund disbursement until the presidential election is finished. The reason is because during political year like now, grant fund is very susceptible to be used improperly for political purposes.

Jakarta Governor Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo admitted that he does not dare to take decision on grant fund and social aid disbursement. A policy regarding this matter will be taken soon, but he will coordinate first with KPK before taking any decision on grant fund disbursement.
“
Indeed, until this second, we have not decided because of the appeal from KPK. I do not dare. If for something positive, I dare. But dare for something with consequences, I’m not ,” stated Jokowi in front of scholars in Ulama and Umaro Gathering at City Hall, Tuesday (5/13).Basuki: BPKD Must Disburse Grant Fund for KONI Immediately!Even so, Jokowi assessed that it is better for the appeal to only be applied until the legislative election is finished since many institutions really need that fund.
“Yes, legislative election is over, but the presidential election is not. It (the appeal) should have been applied only until legislative election, so the fund could be disbursed now. This is because there are so many institutions need it,” he uttered.
Meanwhile, City’s Assistant for Social Welfare, Bambang Sugiono, told that his party will soon disburse the grant fund to institution that could be accounted for.
“Under the instruction from Mr. Vice Governor, that appeal can be used or not be used,” he disclosed.
According to Sugiono, his party will do selection to institutions which prioritized to get the grant fund first based on their track records. But, the fund will not be disbursed to individuals.
“We’ll give the fund to institution that could be accounted for. Insya Allah (with God’s permit), the fund could be disbursed this week,” he informed.
The Ulama and Umaro Gathering at City Hall was attended by Muhammadiyah Chairman Dien Syamsudin and Regional Representative Council (DPD) member AM Fatwa. In this occasion, the scholars told Jokowi that until now the grant fund or social aid from the government is still not yet disbursed.
