City to Empower Unemployed People as Parking Attendant

Jakarta Provincial Government will empower unemployed people to support the management of parking in Jakarta. Even the existence of the thugs who often involved in it would also be empowered.

Jakarta Governor, Basuki T Purnama disclosed, those will be recruited as a parking attendant and paid worthily.

"We want to tidy up parking system, there are also many people who have no job, like thugs. We want to pay them. All parking lots will be fixed. We will use them as a parking attendant, no more thug," he disclosed, when he inaugurated Intilang Teduh RPTRA in Semper Barat, Cilincing, Saturday (10/22).

He assessed, in future, Jakarta need parking lots. It is in line with Jakarta government efforts to hook the car owners switch to public transport or mass transportation.

"They prefer to ride bus, if the traffic is jammed. They see parking lot, they will entrust the vehicle there. Parking cost is cheap, you just pay Rp 5,000 for motorcycle and Rp 10,000 for car per day," he finished.
