Flooding in Some Areas Receded

Heavy rain that poured the capital since Tuesday night, causing flooding in some areas. But it had immediately receded within hours.

Jakarta BPBD Head, Husein Murad explains, from nine areas, six out of them have receded. While three other areas are still in check.

Flood Handling in Jakarta Is Optimal

"Flooding in some areas immediately receded within hours. This is due to heavy rain last night. Thus the drainage can't accommodate water," he expressed, Wednesday (1/11).

In details, some areas that had flooding are three points in Kebayoran Lama, starting from Jl Praja Dalam, Gg Hindu RT 11/12 (40 cm), Jl Kangkung (10-15 cm) and Jl Ciledug Raya, Seskoal Cipulir Housing Complex (30-40 cm).

Similar condition is also spotted at Jl H Rausin, Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta (20-30 cm), Jl Deltasari I, Radio Dalam (20-30 cm) and Jl Dermaga, Kampung Tegal Amba (20-30 cm).

"Three areas had receded at 12 AM, while Jl Dermaga receded at 1.30 AM. Then the rest are receded this morning," he expressed.

As for the areas that are still in check are Jl Jatayu 1, Kebayoran Baru, Jl Pela Mampang, as well as Jl Pulo Raya RW 02 and 03.

There are also Jl Sultan Iskandar Muda, Jl Melawai 6, Jl Nusa Indah Raya Malaka Jaya, Jl Gatot Subroto in front of Kemenaker and Jl Haji Saaba, Joglo, West Jakarta, but have receded.

"Urban Village PPSU officer immediately sent to resolve this condition in the field. One is by cleaning the clogged drainage," he uttered.
