Design Changes on MRT Won't Affect Operational Target

The proposed design changes on head carriage of Mass Rapid Transit (MRT), will not affect the operational targets. In the near future, a number of representatives will fly to Japan to discuss the proposal.

If there are less fit, it can be discussed. Foremost, operational targets must be on time

Jakarta Acting Governor, Sumarsono disclosed, the design changes will not the existing schedule. He assessed, the current MRT rolling stock is still under auction process.

"If there are less fit, it can be discussed. Foremost, operational targets must be on time," he stated, at City Hall, Tuesday (1/17).

He explained there is additional cost associated with these design changes. However, the additional costs will be minimized in accordance with technical matter and consequence that have been agreed.

His party and several relevant officials are not satisfied with the designs that have been presented by PT MRT Jakarta. Finally, it was agreed to propose the design.

"More than 90 percent of them who attend in the forum have agreed the design changes plan. It is targeted it should be more aerodynamic," he finished.
