January 2017, Jakarta Inflation Reached 0.99 Percent

Inflation rate in Jakarta along January 2017 is recorded reaching 0.99 percent.

The highest inflation by 1.82 percent is experienced by Pontianak City

The groups of expenditure experienced the rising inflation are transport, communication and financial service by 1.96 percent. Meanwhile, there are also housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel by 1.33 percent and foodstuff by 0.69 percent.

Last Year's Inflation Is Lowest in Last Five Years

Further, it also experienced by the food group by 0.60 percent, health 0,55 percent, fast food, cigarette and tobacco 0,28 percent, education, recreation and sport 0.03 percent.

Dewi Kundalini Saraswati, Section Head of Statistic and Distribution for Jakarta Central Statistics Agency (BPS) disclosed, the consumer price index in December 2016 is reaching 126.27 to 127.52 in January 2017. While the inflation rate in Jakarta year by year is 3.13 percent.

"The highest inflation by 1.82 percent is experienced by Pontianak City," he expressed, Wednesday (2/1).

She explained three sub-groups experienced inflation are facility and transport supporting by 16.31 percent, communication and delivery 2.35 percent and transport 0.03 percent. Yet it does not happen to financial service.

"Then for transport, communication and financial service in January 2017 is reaching 122.93 and the previous month reached 120.57," he uttered. 

As for the commodities that contributed to high inflation are cost of vehicle registration renewal by 0.2734 percent, mobile phone tariffs 0.1612 percent and electricity tariffs 0.1602 percent.

There are also house rental by 0.1372 percent, chicken meat 0.1030 percent, fuel 0.0744 percent, chili pepper 0.0597 percent, and gold jewelry 0.0469 percent.
