MRT Project, Traffic Engineering on Jalan Fatmawati Applied

Due to project of Haji Nawi MRT, traffic engineering began to be applied today, Saturday (2/4) on Jalan Fatmawati, South Jakarta.

Jakarta Transportation Dept. Vice Head, Sigit Wijatmoko disclosed his dept. does not apply a lot of traffic diversion. Eventually, vehicles coming from Blok M toward Fatmawati or otherwise to use the sidewalks that have been designed.

MRT Project Can Finish On Time

But there is a ban to turn right from Fatmawati toward Jalan Abdul Majid. Vehicles must turn around in front of ITC Fatmawati first, then pass on Jalan Abdul Majid. Then Then there is lane reduction as long as 230 meters in the area of MRT project. The policy is applied starting today until August 11, 2017.

"Traffic engineering from Jalan Fatmawati today comes into effect. Yet we do not do a lot of traffic diversion. Vehicle can use the sidewalk on Jalan Fatmawati with canalization system for access road," he stated.

Further, on Monday (2/6), as many as 60 personnel will be alerted in two shifts. Each shift will have 30 personnel and began working at 5.30 AM-2 PM and 2-10 PM.

Those will be placed at every intersection along Jalan Fatmawati. Because at every intersection that is possible will be a knot of traffic jam.
