Elpiji Gas Leaked, a Cracker Factory Burned Out

A cracker factory on Jalan Arus Jati RT 10/05 Jatinegara Kaum Urban Village, Pulogadung, East Jakarta, was gutted on fire, Monday (6/2). It is allegedly caused by leaked elpiji gas hose . There were six employees were frying crackers in the factory when the fire happened. There is no casualty but the material losses predicted up to Rp 300 million.

Yanto (40), a local resident, explained the fire started from factory's kitchen and quickly spread to all factory's semi permanent building, including the employee's boarding house. In minutes, the 10 x 12 meter square building was vanished by the fire until there is no stuff left on the location.
"The fire was difficult to be extinguished, even though the residents had try by taking water from the river," said Yanto.

The fire fighters were also difficult reaching the location since the incident was happened in dense populated area.
"Temporary allegation, the fire was started from leaked gas hose and it exploded," stated Mulyanto.
According to him, there were 10 of 15-kilograms elpiji gas tubes, but only two units of them were used. The rests were placed besides the other. The fire were successfully extinguished at 9.30 AM.
