Traffic Accident on JORR KM 56 Toll Road, 13 Cows on Loose

A traffic accident involving a truck B 9216 TQA carrying cows and a tronton truck B 9011 SPA happened on Jalan Outer Ring Road (JORR) KM 56 from Cakung-Cilincing, North Jakarta, Monday (6/2), around 7.30 AM.

Because of this accident, 13 cows were on loose and wandering around, disturbing the motorists passing on location. To evacuate those cows, highway patrol (PJR) officers had to close one lane. As a result, the traffic on Jalan Cakung Cilincing had congested on both lanes for two kilometers.

Not only that, some cows also entered residents’ settlement. Ridi (35), a resident who lives on Jalan Kebantenan IV, RT 06/02, Sempertimur Urban Village, Cilincing Sub-District, said the locals had restless due to many cows wandering around their neighborhood.

“We had trouble catching the cows,” he expressed.

Meanwhile, Chief of PJR Sub-Directorate for City Police Traffic Accident Unit, AKBP Jazari, explained that the accident began when one of the tires of the truck carrying cows deflated. When the truck driver pulled over to change tire, the truck was hit from behind by the tronton truck. That's why many cows on loose.

“North Jakarta Traffic Accident Unit is currently still trying to evacuate the cows. One of the ways used is by firing dope,” he stated.
