Jakarta Provincial Government is going to revitalize the waste management system which is currently still disorganized. This revitalization is supported by adding 700-900 waste trucks and the needed facilities for waste management.

“We want to rent until we can afford to buy the trucks around 700 until 900 trucks,” said Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, Acting Jakarta Governor, at City Hall (6/9).
The revitalization is also done by giving lamps that are needed by workers to manage the waste at night since the city will ban waste trucks to operate at days to avoid traffic congestion and to give comfort for city residents.

In the future, Basuki added that the waste management will be handed by the Jakarta Provincial Government with independent self management and not using outsourcing system or direct contract system.
